Went to Spencers (aka state side deli) on a Friday evening and they had $2 drinks from 6-11pm. Me & my friend ordered a few and chopped it up with the owner for a while. He was a really nice, outgoing guy and made us feel like we were his old friends. Aside from the drinks I ordered a cheesecake that was pretty high quality. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a bar with great service and decent priced drinks.

I order from and visit here quite often and I have never had a bad experience. Stateside (formerly known as Spencer's) has the best food around and Spencer is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. If you've never been in, you need to go. Whether you're looking to watch the game or casually rolling in for a drink, you will never regret it.

Came here on a Wednesday when crafts were half off and it was happy hour (6pm-11pm). Cocktails were $2 and I got soft parade for $2.50(regular $5). Spencer was working and he made my friends and I feel very welcomed. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Had the bacon avocado heaven burger and I really enjoyed it. It came on a pretzel bun! Only thing I'd say that was bad was the menu; however, it wasn't terrible. There was a lot to look at and it was a bit overwhelming. I would've been happy with a one sided menu, it's a bar after all. However, I did like all of their options! My friends got The Famous, N.Y. style, fries and The Philly. They enjoyed the food as well, no problems. I'd definitely come back to this place! There are deals everyday and you get really good value for your money.

Went there the first day they opened. They have fresh food and most things are made by scratch. The service was great and the owner came and talked to us. He was very friendly. Prices were decent

I decided to go here because I saw a huge "Breakfast all day!" sign on my walk home from hot yoga. I went in around 6pm, and I was the only person there. I mean I know it's a Monday night, but you'd think there'd be more people there. They're fairly new though, so I digress. Anyways, I had a great experience! My order was taken and a hot plate of food was in front of me within 5 minutes of walking in. Granted, I was the only person there, but still - nice to see. The owner and the waiter being trained were very friendly, and refilled my water without me having to ask. I ordered the Eggs & Meat combo, so I got 2 eggs (over medium), bacon, hash browns, and toast. All for $5.75...great deal. And I got SO MUCH FOOD! A literal crap-ton of bacon - 6 pieces or something. Half a plate of hash browns, two full pieces of wheat toast warm & buttered, and two eggs cooked to perfection. Sorry if I'm rambling, but I absolutely love breakfast food, and that was REALLY good breakfast food. I could definitely see myself coming here again, and I really hope they make it as a new restaurant. Wish they were open on weekends past midnight, though - that quality of breakfast food when drunk would be absolutely fantastic.

Stopped in while visiting from Alabama for an MSU game for a beer. The owner struck up a conversation and we were blown away by his story of entrepreneurship! Great service! Cold beers! Customer service makes all the difference! Trying his place in Okemus for breakfast!

Walking by I honestly thought this was another Emo clothing store. Decent food and happy hours are commendable. 50 cent beers on Saturdays. However, they have the shittiest bar service I've ever experienced! All inexperienced bar tenders who will close your tab without say.

I don't totally get what's going on here. I have super mixed feelings about this place. We stopped in for lunch one day after they opened, and the menu is a bit disjointed, though the food was decently solid. Looking at it a different way, it could be viewed as a plus to be able to order spinach dip, ribs, and a Greek salad or baklava all from the same establishment. Though something tells me they may need to focus a bit and narrow things down. Oh, and it's also a bar in the evenings. But with like...5 tables. Which are sometimes outside. I don't know - I can't figure this place out. Anyway. I ordered the veggie pita and cajun fries, which were pretty great. Super soft pita, super fresh fries, I was happy. The service was really, really lacking, but I'm willing to chalk that up to the fact that they just opened and it was the lunch rush. I do think it's a bit overpriced for what it is. It's about 30% higher than comparable places, and honestly, it really just doesn't warrant it. Overall, I think I want to like this place. I'm not there yet. But I'm willing to give them another shot.

Stumbled here for some food after the UM football game with a friend. They were understandably very busy but we were seated right away and the a manger personally greeted us and made sure we were seated comfortably. We had heard the corned beef Famous sandwich was delicious so we both ordered some with the Cajun fries. Was very impressed with the quality of both. I can see myself coming back here and I love that it's a family oriented business- not just another chain which EL has all over.
